In 2021, with start-up funds from Superior Health Foundation, our Ramp Program was launched to provide Marquette County residents with access to both temporary and permanent ramps.
For residents returning home and in immediate, short-term need of safe access due to injury, illness, or changes in mobility, a temporary metal ramp can be installed for up to eight weeks. Temporary ramps incur a $500 fee to cover installation, removal, and equipment maintenance. Applicants needing assistance with this fee must submit income documentation to determine eligibility for a waiver.
For homeowners with ongoing accessibility needs, a permanent ramp option is available, with costs based on household income.
Applicants must be residents of Marquette County. Permanent ramps are available only to homeowners, with costs based on household income; low- to moderate-income households may qualify for free or reduced-cost ramps. There are no income requirements for temporary ramps.
Ramps are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Not all homes are suitable for a ramp, which will be determined by our construction crew.
