Our Home Repair Program partners with low-to-moderate income households to address critical repairs and safety concerns, ensuring homes remain safe and livable. We are proud to offer this service to eligible residents throughout Marquette County.
Qualified homeowners can use the program for essential repairs, including plumbing, electrical work, roofing, window and door replacements, accessibility modifications, and furnace or water heater replacements.
However, the program does not cover mold remediation, basement moisture issues, or structural repairs involving foundations, trusses, or joists.
All repairs are led by trained Habitat staff and subcontractors, with homeowners actively participating through sweat equity—investing their time into their home. Repair costs are determined based on household income, with those in the low-to-moderate range qualifying for free or reduced-cost services.
Through these projects, homeowners can restore their homes to safe, healthy, and stable living conditions.
Applicants must be Marquette County residents who have owned and lived in their home for at least six months and meet income qualifications. Eligibility is determined based on household size and total income from all members aged 18 and older. A completed application, along with all required supporting documents, must be submitted for consideration.
Once an application is verified, a home visit will be scheduled to assess the necessary repairs. Applications may be withdrawn or denied after the assessment for reasons such as an overly extensive scope of work, hazardous conditions for staff or contractors, the presence of mold, or structural issues. If a homeowner is withdrawn from the program, they will be notified in writing.
Applications are available to homeowners through any of the following:
