Our Home Repair Program is designed to work alongside low-to-moderate income households to address critical repairs and safety issues in a home. We are proud to offer this service to eligible residents throughout Marquette County.
Qualified homeowners can use the program to address a variety of critical home repair needs, such as plumbing, electrical work, roofing, window & door replacements, accessibility modifications, furnace and water heater replacements and more.
Repairs not eligible for the program include mold remediation, moisture issues in basements, and structural issues with foundations, trusses or joists.
All home repairs are led by trained Habitat staff and subcontractors. Homeowners actively participate in their projects by completing sweat equity, or invested time, into their home. The cost of repairs are based on the household's income with low-to-moderate incomes qualifying for free or reduced cost repairs.
Through our repair projects, homeowners are able to restore their homes to being safe, healthy, and decent environments.
Applicants must be a Marquette County resident, own and live in their home for at least 6 months and be income qualified. Income qualifications are based on the total number in the household and includes all income from those 18 years or older. Applicants must submit a completed application and all required support documents as outlined in the application.
After an application is verified a home visit will be scheduled where the home repair needs will be assessed. Applications may be withdrawn or denied after the assessment due to various reasons including, but not limited to, scope of work being too large, hazardous conditions for staff or contractors, presence of mold or structural issues, etc. A homeowner will be notified in writing if they are withdrawn from the program.
