Construction Supervisor - Home Repair Program

Marquette County Habitat for Humanity has an immediate opening for a construction site supervisor. Applicants must be knowledgeable of all aspects of house construction and repairs, be well organized while planning and executing multiple projects, and have strong communication skills. Must be able to train and supervise skilled or unskilled volunteers and partner families on various Habitat projects while promoting the core principles of Habitat for Humanity's affordable housing mission.

Specific Duties:

  1. Home Repairs and Ramp Installation
    • Assess and bid projects, review with Executive Director
    • Design ADA compliant handicap ramps
    • Coordinate with Repair Program Manager to organize, schedule, perform and supervise construction activities for home repair and ramp program
    • Train and supervise volunteers and partner families, as needed, while maintaining safety and quality control. Delegate site work and clean up to ensure evenly distributed and continuous workflow. Ensure activities are conducted safely and in a professional manner.
    • Ensure availability of proper tools, equipment and materials at job site
    • Secure necessary permits, coordinate and schedule inspections with appropriate inspectors
    • Be flexible while providing clear communication to other team members as projects progress or change
    • Understand general policies around Home Repair & Ramp Programs and perform duties within the parameters of the policies 
  2. Assist with New House Construction
    • Organize, schedule and supervise all phases of construction
    • Maintain quality control of project at all times
    • Ensure availability of proper tools, equipment and materials at job site
    • Secure necessary permits, coordinate and schedule inspections with appropriate inspectors
  3. Material Acquisition
    • Review costs with Executive Director 
    • Estimate, purchase and schedule deliveries of materials to job site, arranging for secure drop-off
    • Maintain supervision and security of materials, including protection from theft, vandalism and weather.

Qualifications: Good working knowledge of all facets of construction, ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and move construction materials as needed. Construction experience is required, project management experience is strongly preferred. Builder's license is desired. Compensation based on experience.

Program Support Specialist

Marquette County Habitat for Humanity is seeking a motivated Program Support Specialist to recruit and manage volunteers, assist with all family selection and support activities, and plan and coordinating public relations activities and events. This person will also be expected to provide input in the coordination of construction and safety activities. Candidate must have excellent organizational and team coordination abilities, the ability to communicate with diverse people, strong computer skills and a valid driver's license. This position will require some travel within Marquette County and the ability to work a flexible schedule.

Time Required: 40 hours per week
